Beyond the Borders School Assembly Returns to Church Street School in White Plains NY

I’m back….

I’m excited to announce that on Thursday March 17th 2016 I will be returning to Church Street School in White Plains NY for the 3rd or 4th time to support their 2016 Multi-Cultural Day Program!

Beyond the Borders is one of my most popular Drum Song Story school assemblies and celebrates multi cultural collaboration.

We start with an old African Story and combine it with the Irish Bodhran drum to create an interactive song that immediately engages the audience’s participation…

Then we move into a story from somewhere in the world, It could be the Native American Story of “Coyote and Cicada”, or the Siberian story of “Raven Brings The Rain” or “Jack N The Beanstalk” combined with Mississippi Delta blues guitar…

Eventually we end with “The Silkie” which is a beautiful tale that shows up in storytelling traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia  as well as the Inuit people of Alaska and Greenland.

The ultimate message is that we all benefit from the shrinking world. Each culture combines and collaborates with many others to create common human connections.

I’m also excited to try out my brand new Bose Sound System which promises to bring a new level of clarity to my school programs and Family Concerts!

Cowabungah!
